Supporting the Cadillac Community Alliance
02 May 2025
Each year, we see our team members come back more confident, connected, and ready to contribute in new ways, both within Avon and in the community.
We’re proud to be celebrating the Cadillac Leadership Programme - an initiative that has empowered many of our employees to engage with the community, develop new skills, and apply their talents and passions to make a positive impact.
The Cadillac Leadership Programme is uniquely designed to bring together emerging leaders from various local businesses, pairing them with community service projects selected by the participants themselves, supporting the city of Cadillac and surrounding area.
Participating in this program requires a significant time commitment, including volunteer hours. We take great pride in continuing to support this program, led by the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce, which allows our employees to engage in and contribute to meaningful causes.
Recent community projects
The Class of 2025 is supporting Cadillac Area Habitat for Humanity; an organization dedicated to bringing people together to build homes and strengthen communities. They make essential resources accessible and affordable, empowering individuals to create lasting change. The Class is collaborating with Habitat for Humanity to create a multi-purpose facility that will facilitate the resale of construction materials, offer space for self-help workshops, furniture refurbishing, and host a range of community classes, including cooking and first aid.
The Class of 2024 collaborated with Club Cadillac; an organisation dedicated to supporting the recovery of individuals with mental illness. They offer a unique opportunity for rehabilitation through growing, cooking, and selling produce within their Club House. The Leadership Group successfully raised funds to build a greenhouse and raised beds, which extends growing and harvest season and improves accessibility for all its members.
Carrie Fansler, Class of 2024 said: "The Cadillac Chamber Leadership Program provided me with amazing insight on the programs and resources Cadillac has to offer individuals that live, work, and play in the Cadillac area. Through this program, I have built several community and diverse networking relationships. I have gone through training in these areas in the past, but the Cadillac Chamber Leadership Program has been the most rewarding".
Community legacy
Employees who have participated in this initiative have gone on to take active roles within their local Chamber of Commerce and some have gone on to help other counties establish similar programs in their communities.
Mike Hamner, Avon Protection’s VP Global Operations & Continuous Improvement said: “I believe in investing in our employees, and the Leadership Program is one of the best ways to do that. Each year, we see our team members come back more confident, connected, and ready to contribute in new ways, both within Avon and in the community.”
