Continuous Improvement Training in Japan
In November, our second cohort of participants travelled to Japan to take part in a weeklong programme focused on hands-on learning of continuous improvement (CI) tools and practices.
Hosted by our CI partners, Shingijutsu Global Consulting, participants immersed themselves in the Toyota Production System, examining first-hand the principles and disciplines that have made Toyota a global leader in manufacturing excellence.
During the week, the cohort toured factories, observed kaizen in action, and explored how structured improvement methodologies can drive efficiency, quality and long-term performance. The experience provided practical insights that participants will now bring back to the business, helping to strengthen our approach to CI.
“This was an eye‑opening experience that truly demonstrated the benefits of continuous improvement when applied consistently and effectively,” said a member of the cohort. “Seeing these principles in practice has given us inspiration, clarity and confidence to implement what we’ve learned back home.”
Our goal is to learn, return and implement. These colleagues will now help teach and embed Continuous Improvement principles across the organisation, ensuring a shared understanding of our vision and a common approach to making things better every day.
The Japan training programme continues to play a key role in building internal CI capability, empowering employees at all levels to drive efficiency, innovation and operational excellence across the Group.
