Launching another year of the Professional Development Programme
I’m extremely proud of the programme we have built at Avon with the help and guidance of Richard King from the Tom Peters Company. We have seen many previous participants go on to achieve significant things in their career and I am excited to see the accomplishments of this year’s participants.
In May, our fifth Professional Development Programme, PDP (5), officially started with a launch event in the UK for participants across our business.
PDP is our flagship training and development programme for anyone that wants to launch their career development journey and are looking to contribute to the business beyond the scope of their current role. It aims to identify, encourage, and support the next generation of internal talent across the business though on-the-job learning, mentor support and group sessions.
During the week-long launch event, our 16 programme participants came together to build strong connections, understand how they can deliver excellence, absorb feedback from their managers and peers to share their learning plans, and were paired with a mentor in the senior leadership team who will support and guide them throughout the year.
Zoe Holland, Deputy General Counsel, and previous participant of PDP has supported the facilitation of the programme for a number of years. Commenting on the programme she said: “I’m extremely proud of the programme we have built at Avon with the help and guidance of Richard King from the Tom Peters Company. We have seen many previous participants go on to achieve significant things in their career and I am excited to see the accomplishments of this year’s participants”.
As the event wrapped up, we sat down with the participant to capture their reflections on the week. Discover more in the video below.
Professional Development Programme (PDP) is our year-long flagship training and development programme where we aim to identify, encourage and support the next generation of internal talent across the business through on-the-job learning, mentor support and group sessions. The launch event is a critical part of the programme for enabling participants to build a strong network between themselves, creating their learning plans, and being assigned a mentor. Participants were also joined by members of the Executive Board, as they discussed the opportunities ahead for the business and their thoughts on the goals of PDP.
